KIRT MAYS
Kirt Mays began his employment with Tarrant County Emergency Services District No. 1 (TCESD1) on September 8, 2025, bringing more than four decades of progressive fire service leadership experience to the District.
Prior to joining TCESD1, Chief Mays served as Fire Chief for the City of Haslet Fire Department from 2013 to 2025, where he provided executive leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for the department.
From 1999 to 2013, he served as Battalion Chief with the City of Colleyville Fire Department, managing emergency operations, personnel development, and incident command functions.
He began his fire service career with the City of Saginaw Fire Department, serving as a Lieutenant from 1983 to 1993, where he developed his foundation in emergency response, leadership, and public service.
