BRIAN MERONEY

Captain Brian Meroney was appointed Logistics Captain for Tarrant County Emergency Services District No. 1 (TCESD1) on November 17, 2025. He brings to the District extensive experience in fire service operations, executive leadership, regulatory compliance, emergency management, and disaster response at the local and state levels.


In his capacity as Logistics Captain, Captain Meroney is responsible for oversight of fleet management, apparatus acquisition and maintenance, equipment procurement, facilities coordination, inventory control, and operational resource readiness. His role directly supports the District’s strategic objectives by ensuring fiscal accountability, regulatory compliance, and operational preparedness across all contracted fire and EMS service areas.


Captain Meroney’s professional background includes progressive leadership assignments and specialized service, including:

  • Firefighter/Paramedic – Renton Fire Department
  • Firefighter/Paramedic – McClendon-Chisholm Fire Department
  • Regional Compliance Officer – Texas Commission on Fire Protection
  • Fire Chief / Fire Marshal / Emergency Management Coordinator – Brady Fire Department
  • Medical Specialist – Texas Task Force 1
  • Lieutenant – Saginaw Fire Department


As a former Regional Compliance Officer with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, Captain Meroney developed subject matter expertise in statutory compliance, inspection processes, certification standards, and regulatory enforcement applicable to Texas fire departments. His experience strengthens the District’s commitment to maintaining compliance with applicable state regulations and professional standards.


While serving as Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, and Emergency Management Coordinator in Brady, Texas, he was responsible for departmental administration, fire code enforcement, emergency management planning, and community risk reduction initiatives. His service with Texas Task Force 1 further reflects his operational experience in statewide disaster response and multi-agency incident coordination.


Captain Meroney’s career reflects a balanced combination of frontline operational service, executive leadership, and regulatory oversight. His appointment enhances TCESD1’s capacity to maintain operational readiness, asset accountability, and strategic resource management in service to the residents of Tarrant County.
